For myself (and I assume other movie customers) do not consider BluRay sufficient increase in quailty to pay $10-25 more for the exact same content. I could understand perhaps a $5AUD premium on the quality. My message to studio’s is simple – you want to move Blu-Rays – release them at prices comparable to DVD’s – you’ve already made the film the tranfer to the disc’s cannot cost as much as you’re trying to gouge us for!

My current DVD collection is quite extensive (and being added to all the time) at about 350 titles – my Blu-Ray has a big fat zero (0) nothing, nada, zip as its tally thus far and until prices change, I doubt that number will either!

Its kind of stupid, and no where near as good as the “Carlton Big Ad”, but the Tooheys Extra Dry ad – Steal the Glass we’ll nail your arse / Steal the glass we’ll nail your ass ad is a tiny bit entertaining. I wouldn’t gamble with glass theft, these girls have no poker faces thats for sure.

This has been everywhere – but it is definatly one of the best Ad’s I have ever seen. Perhaps a very clever guerilla marketing campagin by microsoft, either way, top marks!

The great big purple beast be the cause of much frustration, at least now we know WHY tupac got shot.

This fourth movie see’s Harry at Hogwarts as a 14 year old student, about to face his first ball/social/prom during the period of time that the school is hosting the Tri-Wizard tournament. (Where students of Hogwarts, Durmstrung (Bulgarian all boys wizarding school) and Beaubaton (French all girls witching school).

I’m not going to go into massive detail as to what was contained within the movie so as not to spoil it for anybody, but there are some thoughts I’d like to share.

This fourth installment brings a new director to the table, and with it a much darker atmosphere, which I feel is certainly a good thing, but somewhere along the place the improvments (darker atmosphere, the kids growing up) something else fell out. The pace of this fourth film seemed too slow, with not enough progession or smooth segways into the next step of the story. It just seemed to lag in one section and then bounce with little explanation to the next scene, which also felt slow.

Of the four this was definatly the worst as far as pace goes, which is unfortunate as it bring many other improvements to the table, these improvments however are not sufficient to raise it above me calling this installment the worst of the lot.

If you are not a Harry Potter fan, I’d give this a pass. If you are a fan – read the book to about three quarters through and refresh your mind as to the sequence of events and the motivation behind the actions of the characters.

Unfortunatly this movie does not live up to the hype or humor that the preview portreys. I’m going to be cynical and suggest that the preview was designed to enable women to be able to talk their guys into going and seeing this under the guise of it being a funny movie. I have one message for the next DJ, umm those guys. DONT DO IT .

Its horrible and I want my $9.50 back as well as those two hours returned to me with interest.

What a piece of tripe – contrived suspense, stupid situations and way too much barely thinly veiled “yay america we rock” sentiment.

Further proof contrary to most people’s opinion Speilberg and Lucas are anything other than useless directors.
