Wirra Wirra “Woodhenge” – Shiraz (2005) McLaren Vale
While no where near as great as their RSW the Woodhenge is a very nice Shiraz. This one while drinking well now, will do wonders with a few more years of bottle age in good cellaring conditions. This one is under the Stelvin cap’s which should stop any cork taint. Get into it, ignore the…
-
d’Arenberg “The Money Spider” – Rousanne (2006) McLaren Vale
A white quaffing wine. Not too bad for those who’re not such a fan of the white varietals.
-
Wirra Wirra “Scrubby Rise” – Shiraz (2006)
A blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Savignon, Petit Verdot from Wirra Wirra predominantly shiraz – this is a bargain basement wine, but the quality is so much higher than that – take it to a BBQ and among the wine drinking people there, 50% of them will love you, 50% of them will not be overly…
-
Majella “Malleea” – Cabernet Sauvignon/Shiraz (2003) – Coonawarra
Supplied by Nat, and boy do I feel like I need to dig out something special next time I catch up with him. The company was far better than the wine, but this is a drop worth hunting around for a day or four to find a bottle. Do not ignore it – I’d assume…
-
d’Arenberg “The Coppermine Road” – Cabernet Sauvignon (2003) – McLaren Vale
Like much of the “I drank this a long time ago and can’t remember it” ranks – it was nice enough and worth checking out.
-
Outback Chase – Cabernet Sauvignon (2001) – Coonawarra
Decent Cab Sauv – can’t remember it much – was about 7 months ago I drunk this one.
-
Peter Lehmann “Stonewell” – Shiraz (2003) Barossa
Oh baby! I cannot wait to get my hands on a primo of primo years bottle of this one. It’s only made when the grapes are of sufficient quality, which means in the primo of primo years this one should be insane – 05, 06 and 07’s of this ones are must haves on my…

d’Arenberg “The Dead Arm” – Shiraz (2003)
Big bold and beautiful. You buggers need to stop buying d’Arry’s Dead Arm so I can get my hands on it – I’m never able to get any more when ever I manage to get over to the McLaren Vale. Stop buying it and leave some for me! :@
-
Coriole – Fortified Shiraz (2005)
No where near as good as the 1998 d’Arenberg but damn enjoyable – for when you don’t feel like a full on port, or a chunky Shiraz, very nice mouthfeel.
-
d’Arenberg Vintage Fortified – Shiraz (1998)
Filled with crusty residue in the bottle and requiring decanting prior to drinking you know this is going to be a well tasty fortified. Get into this – very nice, very good drinking now. Share with friends after dinner and skip the desert, while not sweet like a desert wine, who cares – excellent for…
