Keyneton Estate Euphonium – Cab Sav, Shiraz, Merlot, Cab Franc – (2004)
This is truly a blended wine being made from 40% shiraz, 25% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot, and 10% cabernet franc grown in the Barossa (Eden Valley and Barossa Valley). The interesting thing about this wine is that it is so well balanced and caters to differing tastes (in red’s of course).
We drank this prior to a meal of grilled sirlion w/ mushroom gravy and potato gratin. All enjoyed it (the shiraz lovers to those who prefer the milder tastes of Merlot) and it seemed to the perfect start to the meal. I highly recommend this drop especially in a group, as it has something for everyone, without losing any of its “essence” of its own.
